Welcome to NexusNine.Net

Nexus Nine (N9) is an RPG community fan site where players and game masters can come together to discuss ideas, develop new gaming material, express creativity, gather online groups, or just chat as friends. We invite and encourage all fans of RPG's to engage in mature conversations, debates, or the editing of fan created material. In addition to our community effort, we have feature articles by our staff members, like the War Machine Profile series and the Anatomy of a Spell series. We also host articles from our staff members and forum members, showcasing only quality work.

Remember: community involvement is what makes this site possible.

Last Update of 2009

31 December 2009
I've been slacking on my web master duties, but I was set into motion by the news of the untimely passing of Pete Overton: A member on our boards (YourSpleen), a thoughtful contributor with his website Quality in Rifts, and a good guy. He will be missed.

New content with this update: In the features section, we have hosted a number of Pete's creative works. Plus, we uploaded a new War Machine Profile, also in the features section.

Winter Update

11 January 2009
We've been quite, but we're still here and we're still working. PBP, creativity, and new material still flow over on the forums; if you haven't checked them out, please do.

Small update today: We have updated the Rifter Index--now updated through #44.

Summer Update

20 July 2008
It's been a long time, but we're still here and we're still working on new material.

We have two new articles by John Stevens. The first is a Coalition Army campaign dossier for a game which takes place in Old Chicago. It includes some NPCs, Campaign Ideas, and character creation rules. The second article is the first adventure of that campaign, which can be used as a one-shot or the jumping off point for a campaign in the ruins of Old Chicago. Check them out in the Articles section.

We have also updated the Rifter Index--now updated through #41. Plus Rogue Shadow added a quick reference for the Best of The Rifter issue. We also have a ton of new userbars for Robotech, Heroes Unlimited and Palladium Fantasy; check them out in the Features section.

I have more material in the queue that I need to format, so keep an eye on the page as the summer draws to an end.

Fall Update

14 October 2007
We have updated the Rifter Index; it now has five different views, to maximize your searching pleasure. Probably the most useful is the index of official material, since those rules lawyers in your group can be using these articles against you. Plus, all month we have been updating Tim Willard's Rifts "Up Close" series. Since the last update post, we've added Coalition Heavy weapons, Wilk's weapons, Northern Gun weapons, Triax Weapons and Generic Weapons and Armor. Tim's series is available in the Features section. His work is fantastic; you should definately check it out if you haven't already.

Summer Update Part 2

03 September 2007
Here it is folks, the big finish: In the Articles section, Brian Hardwick has revised and updated his Fort Abilene adventure setting. Over in the Features section, we are running out of room: We have a new War Machine Profile breaking down the NG-X9 Samson PA, we have a new Anatomy of a spell finding uses for Sacred Oath, and we started hosting the Rifts "Up Close" series.

Also in Features, we have a new interview with Palladium freelance artist Apollo Okamura. Apollo talks with us about how he became an artist, tips on being an artist, his gaming habits, and his up coming project. He was really great to interview, and I'm sure you'll enjoy it. Plus, we're hosting the Rifts Index now, as you may already know; check out the link for that to your left.

And we're not done yet. Nexus Nine is pleased to introduce: The Shifter's Guide to the Megaverse. Using some innovative wiki software, N9 is in the process of cataloging all of the fan created material available on the web, making it categorized and searchable. It should be a great resource for players and GMs looking for new material. We're still working on it, but about 75% of the known PB websites have been added to the guide. If we missed one of your favorites, let us know.
